Hornsby and Kuringai Women's Shelter

                  Apron Project

Hi everyone.
Some of you are already aware (via Facebook) of the Apron Project.
Artists are being called upon to decorate and/or make an apron as a fundraiser for the Hornsby and Kuringai  Women's Shelter.

The finished aprons will go on display at the upcoming  Ball, along with being exhibited at various public spaces.
Finally being auctioned, via the Internet, both here in Australia and in the USA.

This initiative is curated by Sallianne McClelland, who is also on the Shelter's board.
Below is an excerpt from her initial world-wide launch of the project.

Hello you wonderful group of Apron Artists!

I just wanted to thank each of you for offering to participate.   This week I will be creating a page on the Shelter Website to showcase the Project and ultimately showcase the aprons and you, the artists.

I was asked if they are meant to be useable or works of art.  I initially just assumed they would all be useable but I can also see some of you want to do something that is not necessarily something you would wear but showcase.  Just remember useable means washable.

Create your own.
I placed an order this week for 25 plain aprons, for you to decorate. They are $10 including shipping.  Please let me know if you would like one,
