Workshop 15.7: Paula do Prado - Paper Objects and Wearables



Please note this is a ONE day only Workshop.
No prior experience is necessary. Open to beginners and advanced alike.

In this workshop, participants will explore the possibilities of working with paper to create 3-dimensional forms and wearable pieces. Students will apply and investigate the design elements of repetition, shape and structure as they apply origami paper folding principles to construct functional and aesthetic forms.
 

The workshop uses recycled papers and other materials which encourage reuse and new possibilities for familiar materials. Some materials supplied. Students are encouraged to bring along your own stash of old magazines, books or collected papers to use.

Paula Do Prado is an innovative artist who works across all mediums and exhibits her paintings, drawings, textiles and installations regularly. This workshop will introduce participants to paper folding and construction techniques for creating one of a kind paper objects and wearables. The one day workshop will cover selecting and preparing materials as well as techniques for contraction and finishing pieces. All paper used will be recycled and reclaimed and participants are encouraged to bring their own collected or found papers, in addition to those supplied by the tutor.More information about Paula
