Review: Jet James Workshop

Review: Jet James Workshop, by Kathy Hawkins
A lovely wintery weekend was had at Primrose Papers with Jet James learning how to make collagraphs. It was very relaxed and laid back. Jet is a talented and awarded young artist and he had lots to teach us, sharing his skills and assisting us in the finer points of the art such as: how much; how textured; how thick; how to make an interesting mark?

We learnt how to prepare the collagraph substrate (his own technique on PVC sheet); how to achieve light and dark shade; textures; embossing lines of various thickness. The works he brought to display ranged from nature to landscape to portrait. The results were likewise varied and interesting, with participants experimenting with their own style. A wonderful weekend!
