The SSCT16 Exhibition highlights the re-emergence of textiles and its transformation from a domestic craft into a genre of fine art

Open to Sydney wide Textile Artists working in any form of Textiles art. Works are required to be a completely original in design and include hand stitched elements to be eligible. The exhibition will display a range of Contemporary Textile practices and highlight the re-emergence of Textiles and its transition from a domestic craft into the genre of Fine Art making. 

The ‘Betty Stirton’ award will be presented to the winning piece that best displays the transition from home to gallery. The show aims to be held bi-annually and to establish a coveted reputation
